Shooting with my Fuji X-T10 in manual mode, plus a manual focus lens is fun. I don't know of a more elegant way to say it. I also don't really know how to describe it at this time. It's just fun. It just feels more creative. I do this from time to time on my Canon 6d and for some reason it doesn't give me the same level of satisfaction.
I can't really narrow it down in my mind. Maybe it's as simple as the screen on the Fuji giving me instant feedback as to what the image will look like. Maybe its as shallow as me just enjoying the aesthetics of the Fuji more... how it feels in my hand, manually turning buttons instead of rolling dials and needing to look at a tiny little screen to see where I'm at.
With all that said, while walking around town making an attempt at street photography it's still easier and a lot more reliable to throw on the 50-240, set everything to auto and just shoot. So yeah, as much as I think I want to go full manual, full time, I won't. I will still use my 35 f2 and 50-240 from time to time. And who knows, in a month I'll probably want the Fuji 16mm and will be sick of manual focus lenses if I have a bad run of missing shots because I can't focus in time or just miss focus. Anyway, here are 2 from yesterday and today.
